These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the RecallsWatch mobile application (the “App”) and related services, operated by BZBLabs (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
What the App Does
RecallsWatch lets you save products you own by scanning a barcode or entering a product name, and notifies you when a recall is published that appears to match a product on your watchlist. Recall information is aggregated from public sources, including Health Canada, the US FDA and CPSC, and direct retailer recall notices.
Recall information is provided for general information only. We are not affiliated with any government agency or retailer. Recall notices can be amended or withdrawn, matching is based on the data available to us, and coverage is not exhaustive. Always confirm a recall with the official notice or the manufacturer or retailer before relying on it, and follow the safety instructions in the official notice. The App is not a substitute for professional or safety advice.
Accounts
- The App works without an account. By default your data is tied to your device, not to an email address or external provider.
- You may link a sign-in provider (for example Google) to save your data, move between devices, or subscribe.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your linked provider secure.
- The App is not intended for children under 13.
Subscriptions, Billing and Cancellation
- RecallsWatch offers an optional paid subscription (Recalls Watch Unlimited). A free account can watch up to 6 products; Unlimited removes that limit.
- Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are billed by the store you purchased through, not by us. Prices are shown in the App before you confirm a purchase and may vary by region and over time.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price until you cancel. Your store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- How to cancel: manage or cancel your subscription in your Google Play or App Store account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by the store you purchased through, under that store’s policy. We cannot issue refunds directly.
- Promotional or complimentary access may be granted at our discretion and may be changed or ended at any time.
- If you purchase on one device or account and link or reinstall elsewhere, use “Restore purchases” in the App, or contact us at support@recallswatch.com.
Acceptable Use
- Do not misuse the App: no attempts to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape or gain unauthorised access to our services or other users’ data.
- Do not use the App for unlawful purposes, or resell or redistribute its recall data as your own product.
- We may suspend or end access to the App or the service if these Terms are breached.
Availability and Changes
We may add, change, suspend or discontinue features, and may release updates that are required for the App to keep working. We aim to keep the App available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that any particular recall will be detected.
Intellectual Property
The App, its design, and its source content are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App on devices you own or control, in line with the rules of the store you downloaded it from. Recall notices and other third-party data remain the property of their respective owners.
Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of recall data. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from a product you own, from a recall you did or did not receive notice of, or from reliance on information in the App. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
Privacy
Our handling of your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the laws of Canada applicable in it, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
